City schedules budget public hearing June 7
The Merced City Council has announced its schedule for budget workshops and hearings before the adoption of the 2010-2011 budget.
The $35 million proposed General Fund budget reflects more than $1.2 million in cuts from the previous year. In addition, the City is using approximately $3.7 million in reserves to balance the budget.
The budget schedule is:
June 3, 5:30 p.m. Workshop in the Council Chambers.
June 7, 5:30 p.m. Workshop in the Sam Pipes Room.
June 7, 7 p.m. Public hearing on the budget in the Council Chambers during the regular meeting.
June 21, 7 p.m. adoption of the budget in the Council Chambers during the regular meeting.
The proposed budget is posted online at the City’s web site, www.cityofmerced.org.
The Council agendas are posted online at www.cityofmerced.org and are available outside the chambers prior to the meeting. Request to Speak cards are available at the meeting or can be downloaded from the City's website. Cards must be turned in to the City Clerk in order for a person to be recognized by the Council.
The Council Chambers are located on the second floor of the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. The Sam Pipes Room is located on the first floor of the building.
