Union Pacific crossings will get upgraded in June

UP rail crossings to get upgrades this month

Railroad crossings at the Union Pacific tracks will be upgraded during the month of June, which will result in the crossings being closed to through traffic for one to three days. The Union Pacific Railroad line is the one closest to 16th Street.

 

The City will have sign boards notifying drivers that the railroad crossing is closed. According to the Union Pacific, this is the crossing repair plan:

·         V Street, June 16-18, 3-day closure, Crossing will be completely rebuilt with all new track and concrete crossing pads through both tracks.

·         G Street, June 16-17, 2 -day closure, Crossing will be completely rebuilt with all new track and concrete crossing pads.

·         R Street, June 23-24, 2 day closure, Crossing will be completely rebuilt with all new track and concrete crossing pads.

·         D Street, June 23-24, 2-day closure, Crossing will receive all new track structure and will reuse concrete pads, if any pads need replaced they will be as needed.

·         O Street, June 25, 1-day closure, Concrete pads will be pulled to restore track surface, then approaches repaved.

·         M Street, June 26, 1-day closure, Concrete pads will be pulled to restore track surface, then approaches repaved.

·         ML King Street, June 30-July 1, 2-day closure, Crossing will be completely rebuilt with all new track and concrete crossing pads.

·         Gerard Ave., June 30-July 1, 2-day closure, Crossing will receive all new track structure and will reuse concrete pads, if any pads need replaced they will be as needed.
