The Design Review Commission (DRC)/Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is made up of seven members and meets generally on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Merced Civic Center at 678 West 18th Street. However, please note that the DRC meets on the Wednesday on the week following the week that the City Council and Planning Commission meet, so for those months when the 1st of the month falls on a Tuesday or Wednesday, then the DRC actually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. The DRC also serves as the Historic Preservation Commission established to promote the protection, enhancement, perpetuation, and use of structures, sites, and areas that are reminders of past eras, events, and persons important to local, state, or national history.
