California law requires an employer to provide and pay for medical treatment if an employee is injured at work.  The City of Merced has chosen to provide this medical care by using a Workers’ Compensation physician network called a Medical Provider Network (MPN).

A Medical Provider Network (MPN) is a group of health care providers (physicians and other medical providers) used by the City of Merced to treat workers injured on the job.
