Water, Sewer, & Garbage Rates

Utility bills will only slightly increase in December based on the rate schedule approved by the City Council going back to 2006.

There will be no increases to water and sewer rates only refuse.

The increase in refuse rates is used to replace and upgrade equipment as required, for salaries, fuel and electricity and other increased operating costs. Sewer fees do include the costs to upgrade the plant to meet stricter standards required by the state. The fees are not used to pay for new growth or expand services to new areas.

The actual fees will vary depending on use, connections, lot sizes, services and other factors. For the typical residential household the bill is:

Residential sewage:

2009: $41.37
Decreased on 7/1/2010:  $40.29
NO INCREASE FOR 2011 or 2012 to the Sewer Rates

Water service:
2011:  $35.14
NO INCREASE FOR 2012 to the Water Rates

Refuse/recycling/green waste

2011:  $30.30
2012:  $31.22
