CONSTRUCTION/TRAFFIC ADVISORY UPDATE BPMP Bridge Repairs on M & G Street over Bear Creek

Viking Construction Company, in partnership with the City of Merced, will be closing M Street between Rambler Road and 27th Street from 8PM to 5:00AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 through Tuesday, October 31, 2017 to finish installing traffic control devices and striping to complete the bridge repair work over Bear Creek. M Street will reopen with one lane in each direction during each day as before.

North Bear Creek Drive will remain closed to eastbound traffic as before. After 5:00AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 all roadway work should be completed allowing M Street to open all lanes to traffic and the traffic signal should be fully operational.

Work on G Street at Bear Creek will begin late Tuesday evening on October 31, 2017 and is expected to end in the last week of November. Through the duration of the work, two traffic lanes will remain open for southbound traffic and two traffic lanes will remain open to northbound traffic with the center section of G Street to be closed. North and South Bear Creek Drive will remain open with restricted left turns. Detours will be provided.

For the first night of work only, we will need to close G Street to through traffic between North Bear Creek Drive and 27th Street to install traffic handling devices. This will occur between the hours of 8:00PM on Tuesday October 31, 2017 and 5:00AM on Wednesday November 1, 2017. Please use the detours provided through M Street.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, construction related issues, and traffic incidents.
