City budget posted online
The City of Merced has posted its Proposed Budget for 2013-14 online at www.cityofmerced.org. The link CITY BUDGET can be found on the right side of the home page.
The City’s General Fund budget of $32,589,752 is 4.2 percent more than last year. The budget shows a 6 percent increase in sales taxes, no increase in property taxes and business licenses up 5.2 percent. Measure C revenues are expected to total $6.2 million, an increase of 6.4 percent.
The City Council will hold budget review sessions at 6 p.m. May 13, 14, 22 and 29 in the Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. The Council is scheduled to hold its budget public hearing on June 3. The budget is schedule for adoption June 17. The proposed budget is expected to be released at the end of April and will be available on the City’s website, www.cityofmerced.org.
