The Streets Division is responsible for street sweeping or the removal of dirt and debris from City streets. Street sweeping is scheduled from February through October. The Streets Division is also responsible for the annual Leaf Collection Program which is generally held from November through January.
Mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life in Merced by providing street sweeping services that meet the Federal Clean Air Act (FCAA).
Goals: Perform street sweeping according to schedule in residential areas (twice per month) and business districts (weekly) to the finest degree possible. In addition, to provide removal of leaves from City streets during leaf collection season.
