Rancho San Miguel, La Playa Center, 2007

Developers of La Playa Commercial Center at the southwest corner of Highway 140 and Parsons Avenue entered into an Owner Participation Agreement (OPA) with the Redevelopment Agency for the acquisition of neighboring blighted sites and the construction of public improvements in association with the large scale development project.  This southeast Merced neighborhood center project introduced new crucial service and associated retail into the area.  The 86,000 square foot neighborhood commercial center currently supports anchors including Longs Drugs Store and Rancho San Miguel Marketplace.  In addition, smaller retail uses have occupied the additional pads and storefronts creating a high quality project that greatly serves the residents of the surrounding community.
